The next morning I check on the dog
and find he has a very sore foot.
The vet is just across the sreet,on the other side of the creek.
So I drive over there.
Come to find out the tank has fallen on his foot and caught him on the toe.

After treatment and a bandage we drive home to
find out that we will have no water or elec. for 2 weeks.
All stores are closed.But they are handing out 2
gals of water to each person in line at the Lucky Store.

We go there and get in line,We wait and wait,A fight breaks out.
The police are called to keep us all in line.
No more cutting in -PERIOD!
2 hrs later we get home with our water
and realize the big fish tank has no ariation.
So we take the tank out side and take turns blowing air into it,
3 days later the tank is full of fry;baby convicts.

Now we wonder where we are gonna eat, the restraunts are all closed.
We have no emergency equipment,We are stumped.
The neighbours offer to feed us for a price,That's ok.We are starved.

We are told there is no way in or out of Watsonville.
My daughter calls from Foster City.
She will get all we need and get it to us.
How I don't know. But 3 hrs. later here she comes
with gallons of pure water,a stove a huge tarp,
and butane heaters and emergency lights.

We have it made now.
We make a tent out of the tarp�in the carport.
Cook and do our dishes.
We are having great fun,then it starts to rain.
But we don't care we are safe and warm.We will live in this carport during the day for at least 2 weeks.

We get our utilities back in a timely fashion 14 days later
and our homes are inspected for damage.
A couple of years before that, my children and their
dad had built a porch on to the front end of
our house,strong enough to hold ten elephants.
That is what held our home back and kept it from going into the street.

We had tied it down like they do here in Texas.
I don't know what they call the procedure.
But it saved our mobile home.
Our skirting had a bit of damage but that is all
